Hello! My name is Brandi Sherrell and I am eagerly awaiting the upcoming school year as the three year old teacher here at St. Mary of the Knobs School. I was born and raised in New Albany, Indiana and currently live in Sellersburg with my husband Scott. We have two children. Garrett is eighteen and Grace is sixteen and both attend New Albany High School.
This will be my fourth year teaching Preschool here at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic School. I previously taught first grade at Our Lady of Perpetual Help School in New Albany for seven years. I chose to take some time off to stay home with my own children and privately tutored children ages five through twelve for ten years. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in elementary Education from Indiana University Southeast. I am looking forward to attending workshops, conferences, and classes this school year and next summer in Early Childhood Education.
I believe that each child is a precious gift from God and should be encouraged to learn through positive interaction, hands on experiences, exploration and play. I also believe that the overall Preschool classroom should be a fun and happy place, where children are loved and encouraged to explore, play, and engage in experiences that will peak their curiosity, foster a love of God, build friendships, and develop an excitement for learning. I am looking forward to an exciting year at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic School.
