Pre-K

Hello!  My name is Jeanne Landrum, and I am beginning my 15th year of teaching in Catholic education. Previously, I taught kindergarten at Sacred Heart in Jeffersonville for four years, and then when we opened our doors here at SMKCS in 2001, I came on board as the kindergarten teacher. I taught kindergarten here for three years and then moved up to 3rd grade when we added that grade.  After 5 years in 3rd grade, I moved to Pre-K.  I love working with some of our youngest learners at SMKCS.  They are amazing, little people!

My undergraduate work was completed at Ball State University and Indiana University SE. In 2005 I completed my Master’s Degree in Education at Indiana University SE. I continue to attend conferences and workshops each year to learn and to grow as an educator.

My husband Darin and I have two children, Nick and Syd, and we belong to St. Mary of the Knobs parish. Our son Nick is in 5th grade at SMKCS, and Syd loves being an SMKCS 3rd grader. We love being part of this awesome faith community.

Pre K is a phenomenal time of great growth and development. We take the time to really reinforce the basic skills learned in preschool, and using developmentally appropriate practices, we build on more advanced learning to help us to be prepared for kindergarten. Our goal is to grow as a responsible young person all the while developing our socialization skills and reinforcing the building blocks of early learning.  Our classroom is a safe haven dedicated to learning, growing, and developing to the best of our ability. Some things we look forward to in Pre K are in school field trips, hands-on projects and learning centers, exposure to wonderful pieces of children's literature, lots of singing and dancing, and most importantly, growing as a child of God! We are looking forward to an exciting, active, and spiritual year!
