Students love their lockers, science lab, stage, flexible seating, and the ability to spread out when working on projects.
SMK Catholic Middle is focused on creating saints. Students have daily religion classes, participate in meaningful service projects, and act as leaders in our weekly school masses. We have many opportunities to participate in Eucharistic Adoration, Penance, and Stations of the Cross throughout the year. Our faith is the lens through which we approach everything. We study Catholic social teachings, Catholic prayers, scripture, and Theology of the Body. Each incoming middle school student is gifted with a Bible as God’s word guides everything we do!

SMK Catholic Middle offers many opportunities for students to strengthen leadership skills, build a sense of responsibility, and prepare for high school. A major way that the school promotes responsible citizenship and involvement is through the middle school house system. Students in sixth through eighth grade are organized into four houses of intermixed students. Individuals earn house points for showing leadership skills, positive attitude, academic accomplishments, and volunteering in the church, school, and community. Students nominated within their houses assume leadership positions. These leaders must possess Leader In Me core skills and HAWK attributes. House points accumulate throughout the year, culminating in a House Cup competition among the middle school students during the last week of the school year.
At SMK, the individual interests and abilities of each student are celebrated! Students are encouraged to participate in a wide variety of extra curricular activities. Our faculty creates experiences for all students to shine! They strive to guide and support our adolescents during what we believe is a critical time in their development. It is our goal that each student feels like they belong here at SMK. When you ask our students what they love about their school they will often comment on all of our special activities that help build teamwork, leadership, and friendship, being able to switch classes and teachers throughout the day, and opportunities to have outdoor classes on our beautiful campus. But most importantly, our students like that SMK is a place where it is easy to feel loved.
